Medical 2D OB Scans

This first 2D ultrasound is crucial for confirming a viable pregnancy. It verifies the presence of a heartbeat, determines if the pregnancy is located in the uterus (ruling out ectopic pregnancy), and provides an accurate gestational age, which helps calculate the due date. It may also detect multiple pregnancies (twins or more) at this stage.

This 2D scan continues to monitor the baby's development. We will measure the baby, the nuchal lucency, listen to the heartbeat, evaluate the placenta & determine the gender (if desired).

Also known as the mid-pregnancy or anomaly scan, this 2D ultrasound is a comprehensive evaluation of the baby’s development. This will include measurements of the baby's head, abdomen and thigh bone. It checks the brain, heart, spine, limbs, and other organs for proper formation.

The cardiac and cranial anatomy, stomach, bladder, face, extremities, fetal position & gender determination (if desired) will also be looked at. This scan assesses the placenta, cord insertion, 3-vessel cord, kidneys & spine, ensuring everything is on track for a healthy pregnancy.

Performed to check the well-being of the baby. This will include fetal movements, tone, amniotic, fluid volume & to see the baby practicing breathing. A score of 8/8 is given if these criteria are met.

This scan is to see if your baby is head down (vertex) or head up (breech).

This later 2D scan monitors fetal growth and checks the baby’s position as delivery approaches. It evaluates the placenta, fluid levels, and blood flow through the umbilical cord.
